Churn Dash – baby

A cute little quilt designed for Mom to make in her 30’s fabrics. 


Make 12 Churn Dash blocks

Mom used the Accuquilt Churn Dash Die for the GO

  • Use whatever method you prefer for making 3 inch finished half square triangles – HST’s will measure 3.5 inches including seam allowances – you will need 4 for each block.
  • Cut 1 square 3.5 inches from your background fabric
  • Cut 4 rectangles 2 x 3.5 inches from background fabric
  • Cut 4 rectangles 2 x 3.5 inches from your print fabric

Sew a print rectangle to a background rectangle – you will need 4 – assemble the churn dash block as shown below. 


Churn dash block before framing is 9 inches (9.5 with seam allowances)

Framing strips for churn dash blocks are cut 1.5 inches and finish at 1 inch


Set blocks 3 across and 4 rows down (12 blocks)

Inner border cut 1.5 inches

Outer border cut 3.5 inches

Quilt is approximately 41 x 52 inches
